3D Cabinet & Sideboard Configurator

Design your own cabinet

Define the exterior dimensions

Determine the external dimensions of your sideboard to the nearest centimetre. Set a height for your sideboard between 30 cm and 300 cm and a width between 30 cm and 600 cm. Choose a depth between 15 cm and 60 cm.

Please Note: In construction, the top and bottom shelving panels will be divided if the following dimensions are exceeded: Solid wood = 300 cm, MDF/Real wood veneer = 275 cm, Plywood = 245 cm, Premium decor = 275 cm. During production, we will divide the panels at the most practical point. Please advise if you require a specific division point.

Are you planning a piece of furniture for a niche? Please plan the following assembly distances: 3 cm to one side and 3 cm to the ceiling. For more information on the mounting distances to be observed, please see Services & Help -> Measure correctly.

Special Requests: If you require shelving with special dimensions or other additional options, please contact our specialist furniture consultants who will be happy to support you in your planning.

Choose the materials

You can select the materials with one click. We offer 12 solid wood types, varnished or coated MDF boards, real wood veneers, premium decor and plywood. When choosing solid wood or a real wood veneer, you can also select from different oilings/varnish finishes. Varnished MDF can be configured in over 200 RAL colours.

You can find more information about our materials under Services & Help -> Material.

Specify the material thickness

Determine the material thickness for your sideboard. Depending on the material and surface treatment, the material thickness is approx. 1.8 to 2.0 cm or approx. 2.8 to 3.0 cm. The external dimensions you have selected remain unchanged.

Adjust the base

You can choose to design your sideboard with or without a base. If you choose a base, it can be planned with a height between 7 cm and 15 cm. You can also choose from a selection of 11 furniture feet or frame designs. In doing so, the base height is included in the overall dimensions of your sideboard.

If you choose a base for your sideboard and require a skirting board cut-out for it, you can select this in Step 8 of the configurator. As alternatives, we also offer hanging sideboards or you can choose to select wall mount option for added stability.

Select the columns

Use the slider to plan the number of columns for your sideboard. In the 3D view, each individual column's height and width can be adjusted and determined.

Define the compartments

Use the slider to set the number of compartments. In the 3D view, you can add the required number of compartments for each column. Here, the height and width of the respective compartments can also be adjusted.

Select the doors & drawers

You can fit your sideboard with drawers and various door types by clicking on the relevant compartment. If you want to plan a door over several vertical compartments, select the desired compartments by holding down the mouse. Our doors are fitted with our push-to-open function as standard. Alternatively, you can choose from 5 different handles in different colours and finishes. You can determine both the material of the doors or drawers, as well as decide whether your fronts should be interior fitted or surface-mounted.

Drawers and doors are manufactured with a material thickness of 2 cm. For surface-mounted fronts, the specified depth increases by 2 cm, while the usable depth decreases by 2 cm for interior fitted options. If the interior fitted fronts are made of solid wood, we apply 2 cm thick stabilizing strips, which reduce the usable depth by another 2 cm.

If you are planning a solid wood finish for your sideboard, the drawers will be made of plywood, with the drawer fronts made from your chosen solid wood type. If you select one of our additional materials (excluding solid wood or real wood veneer) for your furniture, your drawers will be produced with a white finish. If a front option is not selectable, the required dimensions of the drawer will be displayed when you hover over it.

Tip: You can choose fronts made from a different material than the furniture structure. A popular option is the combination of a solid wood structure with MDF varnished fronts.

Add extra features

In the final step of the configurator, you can add various options to your custom-made sideboard. If you require a flexible shelving layout that can be adapted at a later date, you can add a strip with mounting holes. Or you can select the "Shelf without base" option to turn your sideboard into a hanging sideboard with just one click. You can also fit your sideboard with a back wall panel. If you want to learn more about the available additional options, move your mouse over the info icons.

Sideboards in detail

Top and bottom board divisions

Sideboards that are longer than 300 cm (solid wood), 275 cm (MDF, real wood veneer & decors) or 245 cm (multiplex) must be divided to ensure maximum functionality. We will be happy to divide the top and bottom boards according to your specifications on request. Alternatively, we will manufacture with a divide the sideboard that supports construction and provides the best support for your product.

Back wall panels

Your custom-made sideboard can be fitted with solid back wall panels or back panels made of real wood veneer on request. Alternatively, the back panels are fitted with 0.3 cm thick HDF boards as standard. If you would like to order a sideboard with a back wall panel, the depth will be reduced by approx. 1.9 cm.

Feet

We offer a variety of options to provide your made-to-measure sideboard with a solid foundation. Our premium quality sideboards can be manufactured with metal or wooden feet, which are stable and robust. Alternatively, you can also configure a custom-made cabinet with a plinth base, or for a sleek,  modern look you can mount your product to the wall to create a floating effect.

Frames

We now offer 2 distinctive steel frame bases for our custom sideboards. Both options are available in iron, raw steel and in a black or white coated finish. For a sideboard with an industrial look, a raw steel frame is a good choice.

Handles

If you choose to fit your bespoke sideboard with doors they will come with our "push-to-open" door technology as standard. This is a particularly popular option for an elegant and subtle aesthetic. A simple push will activate the function gently, giving full access to your stored items. Alternatively, we offer an exquisite range of handles, which will complement the doors and drawers of any unique sideboard design.

Storage dimensions

Compartment depths:
With an inner front, the interior usable depth is reduced by approx. 2.0 cm. If you choose to integrate a rear back wall, the interior usable depth is reduced by 1.9 cm

Standard dimensions:
A4 folder (WxHxD): 29.0 cm × 32.0 cm × 8.0 cm
CD case (WxHxD): 14.2 cm x 12.5 cm x 1.0 cm
Blu-ray case (WxHxD): 13.5 cm x 17.0 cm x 1.4 cm
DVD case (WxHxD): 13.5 cm x 19.0 cm x 1.5 cm

Skirting board cut-outs

If a skirting board rail exists in your living space, integrating a skirting board cut-out into your sideboard will ensure that your furniture piece can rest perfectly against your wall. The baseboard of your sideboard will adapt to incorporate this feature.

Hanging sideboards

We can easily produce your sideboard as a floating storage unit. You can simply select the "Wall mount (floating)" option in the final step of the sideboard configurator.  If you activate this option, high-quality wall brackets are installed in the vertical compartments, which distribute and support the weight of your furniture piece. We recommend hanging sideboards only for solid walls.

TV furniture

Our custom sideboards quite often feature as TV furniture. For this reason, we offer numerous options to turn your sideboard into a fully-fledged entertainment system. For example, you can integrate cable outlets into your furniture piece to house your electronic devices. Simply select the special request option in the first step of the shopping basket and inform our specialist furniture consultants of your requirements.

Mounting hole strips

We offer flexible shelving compartments for your sideboard, meaning that your shelves can be adapted to changing storage demands at a later date. Opt for a mounting hole strip to bring greater versatility to your product. Please note that a single row of shelves will be fixed to ensure the stability of your sideboard.
